Awesome time at the Zombie Walk!

Photobucket

This past weekend my son and I were in a zombie walk to help raise money for the food pantry. Following the walk we did the "Thrill the World" Zombie Dance. The dance was a world wide event that might be shown on the Oprah Winfrey show this Wednesday!!

We had an awesome time! It was so much fun getting dressed up and walking around. I was really nervous about doing the dance because I'm not a dancer, never have been. Zak and I took a class the night before the event to help us learn the moves. I had been trying to teach myself using the tutorial videos they had online, but I just wasn't getting it. So we went to the class and after just a few times going through the routine, I was much better at it. Zak was REALLY good at it, but he's young and able to move better than his old mom...lol. There were some really nice and helpful people there giving lots of encouragement through the class.

There were over 100 people dressed up like zombies to do the dance. It was a bit crowded, but it was soooo fun!! I hope they do it again next year. Hopefully we can get a group of friends to dress up and join us!!

So, on to some pics and vids of the fun event...

Here we are before being zombified..

B-day goodies...

I'm a little late posting this, but my hubby had a small Birthday party for me. Our boys and my mom were there.
He always makes me a dinner and pumpkin pie. This year I couldn't decide at first what I wanted for dinner, but then I finally chose an italian beef sandwich dinner. He made italian beef and toasted it on a fresh sub bun with roasted red peppers, onions and swiss cheese. It was delicious!!! And the pie was yummy as always!!!

Our youngest son didn't want italian beef so Steve made him some pizza bread. Here he is with my mom...

Here's a pic with both our boys in it..

Then came time to open my gifts. I got a whole new wardrobe...lol. Lots of t-shirts and pj pants.

My hubby knows I like boxes and tubs, so he found a couple sets of these clear plastic tubs and wrapped a bunch of my gifts in them..

I had a spooktacular birthday with my family!! It was alot of fun. Now I'm in the last year of my 30's. Seems like just yesterday I was turning 18, time goes by so fast!!

Steve and I will be celebrating our 21st Anniversary at the end of this month and I had a sudden realization this afternoon that I've been with him for over half of my life. It's awesome!! That's another thing that has flown by, seems like just yesterday we were dating. Now we're an old married couple with one adult son in college and a 16 year old in his Junior year of high school.

I feel very blessed and loved! Thank you, guys, for making my life so happy!! I love you all very much!!!

Lazy day....

I'm having a lazy day at home today. Everyone is gone so I've had the house to myself all day. I'm trying to clean, but I'm just not into doing that. Then I thought I'd work on my zombie stuff, but I'm not into that either. So I'm sitting here surfing the web and listening to a CD called "A Celebration of New Orleans Music". It's really good. I took the speakers off the desktop computer and put them on my laptop so it's nice and loud :-D

It was supposed to be a little sunny today, but it's cold, cloudy and rainy. Just the kind of day for being lazy and listening to some good tunes. And maybe some baking. I have some apples that need to have something done to them. Can't decide though if I want to make apple pie, apple slices or apple crisp. Maybe I'll try making apple dumplings. I've never made those before. Do some baking to get the house toasty warm and smelling delicious!!

This week I'll be celebrating my 39th birthday!! My hubby asked what I wanted for my b-day dinner and I couldn't decide. Then I finally thought of something that sounded yummy. Toasted italian beef sandwiches on fresh baked sub buns covered with roasted red peppers, onions and swiss cheese. Doesn't that sound yummyscrumptious!!! He always makes pumpkin pie instead of cake for me cuz it's my favorite.

The New Orleans music is done and now Harry Connick Jr. is playing again. I like his music. The playlist I have playing now is all his music with the New Orleans Music in the middle of it.

Well I suppose... I better get up and do something. It's weird how I love having quiet days to myself, but I miss my guys so much that I don't feel like doing anything!! Don't know what I'm gonna do in a few years when my boys are moved out on their own. It's not so bad now cuz I know they'll all be home later. But in a few years it'll just be Steve coming home and I'll still be missing my boys. Steve will just have to keep me busy ;-)
