I love old recipe books! This one is an old "town collection". The cover is gone so i dont know the year, but its from a time when the women would sign their recipes as Mrs. (Then their husbands name) y ou dont see that very often any more.

Mix 2.5 c. Flour, a half c. Powdered sugar & 2 sticks butter like pie crust dough. Press into pan & bake for 20 min. In a bowl beat 4 eggs then add to it 1.5 c. Sugar, 6 tablespoons lemon juice, 4 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1.4 teaspoon salt. Pour over hot crust and bake for 25 min.

Then you mix in the rest of the ingredients. Pour that over the hot crust you just baked. Pop it back in the oven for 25 minutes.

Then you take out your frustrations and beat 4 eggs.

Then press the flour crust into the bottom of a cake pan.

Lemon bars- first u cut the butter into the flour mix.

A Batman comforter, we already have a Superman one, now I just need a Wonder Woman comforter to complete the set :-D

Those were my gifts this year. I know, I'm spoiled...lol

The Big 40

This year I celebrated my 40th birthday. Seems weird that I'm 40 years old already, I sure don't feel 40. But then again, since I've never been 40, how would I know what it feels like...lol. 
I had a nice surprise from my hubby for my Big 40. I came home from work to find he had set up a little Halloween display for me... 



During the day at work a group of Jr. High kids came in and sang Happy Birthday to me. That was so much fun!!!



Also, one of their teachers made a Birthday hat for me...lol
And Brigit came to see me at work. She had a balloon tied to her. She wanted so bad to come in the kitchen to see me when she heard me in there, but she had to stay outside... NO DOGGIES ALLOWED in the kitchen!! 


And, as always, Steve made a pumpkin pie for me. He put the candles in the shape of 40...
Steve's Aunt & Uncle weren't going to be able to come celebrate with me, so they brought a party to our house early. After one of Tyler's football games they brought over a birthday cake... it was soooooo cute!! I almost forgot to take a pic of it, but I got one after it was cut...

A couple of the girls at work, Shelly & Melissa sent me flowers. They were pretty black & white carnations in a very cool vase....

I had an amazing birthday!!!! Thank you again, everyone for making the day so very, very special for me!!!! I'll post pics of my presents in another blog. I'm getting tired and need to get to bed.... now that sounds like I'm acting my age...lol!!!
